We provide a full-time administrative team that supports you throughout your workdays and ensures your clients receive a high level of care every time they contact the practice.

Your responsibilities will include the following:
Consulting with clients up to 18 years of age to assess their mental health, provide a diagnosis and recommend appropriate treatment;
Diagnose and treat various mental health, emotional and behavioural disorders using evidence-based psychotherapeutic methods such as cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness, interpersonal therapy, emotion-focused interventions, DBT and other evidence-based therapies and techniques;
Provide psychological services to support children and young people;
Administer tests and formulate treatment plans for clients;
Design and evaluate treatment plans and assist in the implementation of evidence-based psychological interventions;
Consult and liaise regularly with families, carers and significant others where required;
Write assessments and reports in a timely manner;
Follow the ethical guidelines as set out for psychologists in Australia and conduct yourself in such a manner that all your actions are ethical, professional and above reproach;
Conduct case management and other administrative tasks as needed;
You are responsible for creating and maintaining accurate client records as per AHPRA’s guidelines and keeping this up to date at all times;
You are required to provide feedback to doctors as required by Medicare for clients referred with a mental health care plan.
Your Profile:
You will have the following:
Registered with AHPRA as a psychologist (or due for registration in the next three months);
Eligibility to obtain a Medicare provider number;
A current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and a NDIS Worker Screening Check, or the willingness to obtain these documents;
Skills and values like:

Exceptional verbal and written skills;
A warm, non-judgmental and client-focused approach to therapy.
Desirable Skills and experience, but not essential:
Demonstrated skills and knowledge in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of psychological services.
Demonstrated a high level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment, considering the social determinants that relate to indigenous health and culture.
Demonstrated personal and clinical program management skills
Demonstrated ability to function independently or as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

Relocation assistance is available for clinicians moving from other states within Australia. Relocation and visa costs for overseas candidates may also be considered (based on eligibility criteria).
The practice operates under a DAMA Labour Agreement with the government, enabling sponsorship on a 494 visa, with a pathway to permanent residency after three years. Age concessions allow employment up to the age of 55, and visa processing is generally faster.
